Greetings from the Moss Point Alumnae Chapter (MPAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and welcome to our official website. We are honored that you have chosen to visit our virtual home. Please, take a few minutes to look around and learn more about the enthusiastically dedicated women of our college-educated organization and how we improve, enrich and empower the communities of Jackson County, Mississippi.

Beginnings….

The year was 1913. Twenty-two female students at Howard University decided the current state of society needed to change. They were forward-thinking, goal-setting, and trail-blazing when they founded Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as a sorority based on sisterhood, scholarship, and service. Their vision was to help those in need, fight for equal rights, and promote academic excellence. Since then, more than 200,000 women in 1,000 chapters worldwide have followed their lead. MPAC is one of them.

In 1984, after recognizing that some area communities in Jackson County needed help, 13 local members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., chartered the Moss Point Alumnae Chapter. Nearly four decades later, we are still making an i(MPAC)t by continuing the work of our Founders. Approximately 80 members strong, our professional and dynamic chapter members meet local needs through programs, activities, and partnerships that align with the Five-Point Programmatic Thrust of our national chapter. They are Educational Development, Economic Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Political Awareness and Involvement, and Physical and Mental Health.

MPAC members are proud of our work and look forward to continuing acts of service. Through sisterhood, scholarship and service, members stand ready to help when needed. We will use our considerable and combined strengths to be agents of positive change, presenting programs and activities to address local communities' challenges. Our hope is that our i(MPAC)t is a lasting one that not only improves Jackson County but inspires others to consider how they can make a positive difference.

As chapter president, I am humbled to lead such a powerful and committed group of women. Naturally, my presidency will build on the strong foundation of Deltas who came before me-- women of courage and vision who looked at problems and saw them as opportunities. My goal is to live up to the high standards they set. My hope is that under my leadership, MPAC will make an even bigger i(MPAC)t that transforms this place we call home.
